Christmas and New Year Terms and Conditions
A Non-Refundable deposit of £100.00 per room is required to secure the booking.
The Hotel accepts no liability should any form of entertainment be cancelled at short notice and/or the Hotel needs to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. weather, illness and so forth and/or if the Hotel needs to close due to circumstances outwith it’s control.
By paying a deposit you are agreeing to our Festive Terms and Conditions in addition to our normal Terms and Conditions which can be found on our website (www.venlaw.co.uk).
We reserve the right to amend the contents of these Terms and Conditions without notice. It is the customer’s responsibility to keep updated on any changes Castle Venlaw may make.
Smoking - In accordance with Scottish legislation, the Castle is completely non-smoking.
Any guest found to be or have been smoking in the bedroom will upon departure, be charged a fee of £150.00 to cover the cost of additional cleaning expenses. Where there is no doubt that smoking has occurred, the charge will be applied without question. Smoking is not tolerated within the hotel and we request that guests respect the law in this matter.
Single occupancy - Single occupancy is available on request, please contact the hotel for further information.
Long stays - Long Stay rates available on request, please contact the hotel for further information.
Children - We are unable to cater for or accommodate infants and children under the age of 13 within the Hotel. We have no facilities inc. overnight facilities to cater for infants or children under the age of 13. We do not allow infants or children under the age of 7 in the Bar or Restaurant after 7pm. Children aged 14 are charged £25.00 per night BB - subject to availability. Food and drinks will be charged separately. Children aged 15 years old and onwards additional £30.00 BB - subject to availability. Children under the age of 16 years of age are not permitted to stay in the hotel's accommodation on their own and must be accompanied by an adult in the same room.
Bookings - To make your reservation simply telephone, fax or email us. We are happy to accept your credit card number to confirm the booking. We welcome Visa, Access and Mastercard but do not accept Diners or American Express or Cheques.
Bicycles - Whilst we welcome cyclists, as it is a very popular sport within this region, we do not under any circumstances allow bicycles to be stored in our bedrooms. We will however, provide a secure location for your bicycle to be stored where there is no access to the public from 10.00pm until 8.00am/8.30am. Should any guests require further assistance with this, please contact a member of our team who will be happy to assist.
Check in time - From 3.00pm till 9.00pm. Reception closes at 11.00pm. Please note that all guests must be over the age of 18 years old to check-in and hold a vaild debit or credit card.
Check out time - From 8.00am - 11.00am Monday-Friday and from 8.30am -11.00am Saturday-Sunday. If you intend departing prior the times please advise reception on the previous evening.
Breakfast time - Breakfast is from 8.00am till 9.30am Monday-Friday and from 8.30am till 9.30am on Saturday and Sunday.
Deposits - For all reservations a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per room using a credit or debit card is required.
Cancellation - Bookings cancelled within 7 days of arrival will be liable to a cancellation charge equivalent to the first nights stay if we are unable to re-let the room. Different cancellation terms apply to private functions and bookings for more than three rooms and over Christmas and New Year. A failure to show will be classed as a cancellation and will be charged at the full rate quoted at time of booking. Cancellation insurance is available and we strongly advise that guests ensure they have adequate insurance. We do not accept cheques for any part payment or payment in full of final balances. All cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The hotel does not accept cancellations via the telephone.
Animals - Unfortunately we do not allow pets in the Hotel or rooms.
Disabled Access: Due to the layout of the hotel, we unfortunately have very limited disabled access. Please note that all public rooms are on the first floor and bedrooms are located on the second floor upwards. We will however assist where we can. The hotel does not have the facility of a lift to rooms.
We politely request that guests do not consume food or alcohol in their room or public areas, including our beer garden, purchased from elsewhere. We reserve the right to charge corkage and or a tray charge per room during your stay or upon/after departure. Our minimum charge of £10.00 will be applied.
Castle Venlaw Hotel does not accept any responsibility or liability for loss or damage to guest property or personal injury whilst visiting or staying at the hotel.
The guest will be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury that they may cause or sustain whilst at the hotel and to hotel property. Castle Venlaw Hotel reserves the right to charge your debit or credit card before or after your departure, for the full cost of repair or replacement of any damaged property. This also applies to and includes, without limitation any extras that remain unpaid at departure.
Zero Tolerance Policy - Castle Venlaw operates a Zero Tolerance Policy which we adhere to vigourously defined below:
Non Physical Abuse: The use of inappropriate words or behaviour causing distress and/or constituting harassment. This includes receipt of abusive telephone calls from any source will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Physical Abuse: The intentional application of force against the person of another without lawful justification resulting in personal discomfort or physical injury will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Should any of the above arise, we will, without question, contact the relevant authorities.
